Nestled on the first floor of 48 Alfred Street South in Milsons Point, Art Atrium 48 has established itself since its opening in 2024 as one of Sydney’s essential cultural spaces. The curator, Isabelle Le Boursicot, represents a selection of Australian and international artists working across a range of disciplines, from painting and photography to sculpture.

On Saturday 21 February, the gallery chose to celebrate the Lunar New Year in a particularly elegant fashion, inviting visitors to a one-hour live concert featuring singers from the prestigious Nanjing University of the Arts, under the direction of Dr. Peng Wu, an internationally acclaimed opera singer and academic at the university. From 2:30 to 3:30 pm, the spellbinding voices of Dr. Wu and his colleagues filled the gallery space, creating a rare atmosphere in which artworks and lyrical music entered into an unexpected and deeply harmonious dialogue. A suspended moment, both intimate and grand, that perfectly embodies the vision of Art Atrium 48: to make the gallery far more than an exhibition space, but a true hub of cultural life.

The concert took place alongside the exhibitions currently on view at the gallery until 7 March 2026: Flourish by Sophie Dunlop, a luminous and generous body of work, and Earth Myth by Seong Cho, a more introspective exploration of our relationship with the earth and myth. Two complementary artistic propositions that reflect Isabelle Le Boursicot’s affinity for dialogue between different sensibilities.
Art Atrium 48 is open Wednesday to Friday from 12pm to 5pm, and Saturday from 12pm to 4pm. More information at https://artatrium.com.au/48-
