    Xavier Barthelemy
Xavier Barthelemy (NSW) is the artistic director and a founding member of Le Petit Theatre Sydney, a cultural association established in 2015 to promote the French language and Francophone culture through theatre in Australia. In his role, Xavier directs and oversees the selection of themes and plays, ensuring that each production balances intellectual depth with humor, while keeping audiences engaged and entertained. Xavier’s passion for theatre emerged early in his life in Toulouse, where he accompanied his family to numerous travelling stage shows, including operettas. Although he humorously recalls a brief ambition to become an “evil scientist” with a thirst for world domination, his love for the stage ultimately prevailed, guiding his energy toward theatre. Since arriving in Sydney, he has fully immersed himself in performing, directing, and shaping productions at Le Petit Theatre Sydney. Known for bringing creativity, spontaneity, and a touch of “craziness” to the association, Xavier constantly seeks intellectual reflection in play selection while maintaining a strong focus on comedy. His ultimate goal is to create performances that move audiences emotionally, making them laugh and cry, which he considers the greatest reward. Under Xavier’s artistic leadership, Le Petit Theatre Sydney produces French-language plays with English subtitles, making Francophone theatre accessible to a wider audience. The association also organises theatre workshops in French, led by professional tutors, providing opportunities for community members to engage with the French language and culture in a hands-on, immersive way.

Elias Redstone is a visionary curator and arts leader, recognised for his impactful contributions to contemporary photography. He is the Founder and former Artistic Director of PHOTO Australia and the PHOTO International Festival of Photography in Melbourne, a major biennial event that attracted over half a million visitors across three editions. The award-winning festival presented a vibrant program of free exhibitions and large-scale outdoor installations, commissioning new work by Australian artists alongside exclusive presentations by internationally renowned photographers including Nan Goldin, Ryan McGinley, Zanele Muholi, Cindy Sherman, and Malick Sidibé. During his tenure at PHOTO Australia, Elias launched several international initiatives to elevate Australian photography on the global stage. Among them was On Country: Photography from Australia—the first-ever exhibition dedicated to Australian photography at the prestigious Rencontres d’Arles, organised with the support of FACEF (French-Australian Cultural Exchange Foundation). Showcasing the work of 17 Indigenous and non-Indigenous artists and collectives, On Country has been widely recognised as one of the most significant international presentations of Australian photography to date.
