The nomination period for the very first edition of the Belgian-Australian Excellence Awards closes on 13 April 2026, which means you have just one week left to put forward the people who deserve to be recognised.
And the enthusiasm has already been incredible: nearly 50 nominations have already been submitted since the opening of the process, a remarkable response for a brand-new awards programme. Don’t miss your chance to be part of it.
Launched by the Belgian Embassy in Australia and LCANews, these landmark Awards were created to shine a spotlight on the remarkable achievements of Belgians and Australians who contribute to strengthening the ties between our two countries.
Who can be nominated?
The competition is open to both Belgians and Australians living in Australia who contribute, through their work, to the relationship between the two countries. And anyone can submit a nomination, a friend, a colleague, a manager, or even yourself. When you run a one-person business, you have to be able to put yourself forward!
How to nominate?
The process couldn’t be simpler: head to the LCANews website, where you’ll find the nomination form. Select the relevant category, fill in the details, and submit, that’s all it takes.
What happens next?
A community voting phase will take place from 20 April to 4 May on the LCANews website. The candidates with the most votes will automatically become finalists, before a panel of expert judges makes the final call.
From the nomination stage, each candidate’s photo, biography and professional links will be visible on the website, and the competition is entirely free to enter.
The Ceremony: A Historic Evening in Canberra
The official ceremony will be held on Thursday 21 May 2026 at the Belgian Embassy in Canberra, bringing together distinguished guests and sponsors committed to deepening the bonds between Belgium and Australia.
Don’t let this opportunity pass. Know someone who deserves to be celebrated? Nominate them before 13 April at lcanews.com.
