Public voting for the inaugural Belgian-Australian Excellence Awards closes on 4 May at midnight — nearly 2,000 votes already cast.
The clock is ticking. Public voting for the inaugural Belgian-Australian Excellence Awards closes on Sunday 4 May 2026 at midnight (AEST). With only a few days remaining, now is the time to make your voice heard and celebrate the remarkable Belgians – individuals and organisations – who are shaping life in Australia.
The response from the public has been truly exceptional. Nearly 2000 votes have already been cast across six award categories, a level of engagement that far exceeded our expectations for a first edition. It reflects the vitality and pride of the Belgian-Australian community, and the quality of this year’s nominees.
Nominations span six categories: Arts, Culture & Community; Culinary & Gastronomy; Entrepreneurship & Innovation; Environmental & Sustainability; STEM, Research & Academia; and High Impact Corporate. Each category features an outstanding shortlist of nominees whose contributions to Australian society deserve recognition.
“Nearly 2,000 votes in a matter of weeks — that tells you everything about the energy of the Belgian-Australian community. The quality of the nominees is exceptional, and the best is yet to come on 21 May.” Francois Vantomme, Founder, Belgian-Australian Excellence Awards
Voting is open to everyone. Head to lcanews.com to cast your votes before the deadline. Each vote counts — the top public vote-getter in each category will automatically secure a finalist place.
