Where to eat? France’s best cheese selection in Sydney

Oh cheese… The only food that no one can resist… The world renown cheese culture has been gradually diffusing onto Australian land. This time, more and more delicacies are opening up in Sydney, most of which sell the best french cheeses in town. From Raclette to Roquefort- here’s everything you need know about Sydney’s best french cheese providers.

Penny’s Cheese Shop- Sydney’s best cheese provider with a quirky twist

Penny’s Cheese shop has only been open for three-and-a-half years, yet its ambiance and cheese selection make your planned trip a worthy visit. This hidden gem is located in Potts point, serving cheese to local customers daily.

The cheese shop includes two fridges, one for soft cheeses , and the other one for hard ones. Nevertheless, Penny Lawson opened up the shop with one mission- to make cheese accessible to all. Now, her toasties are considered Sydney’s best.

P-S: Penny’s Cheese Shop includes seasonal selection with local and imported cheese delicacies, along with pickup and local area delivery.

Not french Enough? Le Petit Marché is the place to go.

Feast your eyes, smell and taste buds to one of the rare all-things-french shops in Sydney. Located in the Northern Beaches, Le Petit Marché offers a wide selection of french cheese paired with saucisson and boutique wines. You dont need to take a trip to France, just take a short drive down to the shop and pick from the rarest of French imports.

Need to impress your french guests during a dinner party? Le Petit Marché sells pantry stunners suitable for everyone. Ranges from organic pasta, truffle oils, pâté and champagnes.

The fridge is filled with the rarest of cheeses ranging from Comte to the Loire Valley. France. There is also a small selection of cheeses from Italy, Spain, England, America and Australia. They are all selected in season, so you can taste the difference between a summer goats cheese and a winter one.

Le Petit Marché is open for delivery and takeaway.

La Boîte À Fromages

Located in Balgowlah, La Boite à Fromages has been operating since 2012. The renown cheese shop specialises in European farmhouse cheeses and the top selection of Australian cheeses. Though the selection might be limited, it is ever-so eclectic filled with a range of classics.

Looking for specifically-french cheeses? Pick up a French raclette set (where you can rent a raclette machine for free). Selection includes Bay of Fires cheddar, Brilliant Savarin and the Holy Goat La Luna Ring.

The store also participates in multiple markets across Sydney, so hop on down to various locations (mentioned on their website), and indulge yourself in the best cheeses on the market.
