The Port Phillip EcoCentre is honoured to be granted the privilege to present the Australian premiere of the latest documentary by acclaimed French cinematographer
Yann Arthus-Bertrand NATURE: The Call for a Reconciliation.
This cinema screening and event will take place at the iconic Astor Theatre, 1 Chapel St, St Kilda at 7PM on Wednesday 25 June and is a fundraiser for the Port Phillip EcoCentre. The film is in French with English subtitles.
NATURE is a powerful film for this moment. Through stunning visuals and intimate storytelling, Arthus-Bertrand explores the values that underpin ecological and human resilience: cooperation, adaptability, and respect for life’s natural rhythms.
As Arthus-Bertrand shares, he is “very pleased that our film is being screened in Australia, particularly in support of the Port Phillip EcoCentre, a wonderful organisation whose work I applaud.”
“I’ve always admired Yann Arthus-Bertrand, one of my favorite photographers, known for his stunning images of our planet – over 600,000 to date! I had been in touch with him a few years ago to organize a screening of his film Women, and after seeing Nature recently broadcast on M6, I immediately thought it would be perfect for our EcoCentre, both for its message and for its visual and emotional impact.
So I contacted Yann again, and he was extremely generous: not only did he agree to make the film available to us, but he also offered it to us, convinced by the importance of our cause. Thanks to him, Nature will be screened for the very first time at the Astor cinema in St Kilda – a unique opportunity to discover this film on the big screen. In French with English subtitles”, declare Serge Thomann, St Kilda Councillor – Conseiller des Français de l’étranger.
